While battling during the Assembly surveys recently, Sidhu Moose Wala would frequently say: 'I'm staying put. I will live here, I will kick the bucket here.'
"I'm staying put. I will live here and I will pass on here": This is a line that Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, who enjoyed being known as Sidhu Moose Wala, would rehash at each convention and each side of the road meeting while at the same time lobbying for the Punjab Assembly races held in February this year.
Days after the Punjab government diminished his security cover, alongside that of numerous others, Congress pioneer and famous Punjabi artist Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead close to Mansa on Sunday.
Police said Moosewala, 28, was shot at while he was driving his SUV in town Jhawahar Ke in Mansa locale with two others, and was proclaimed brought dead at the Mansa Civil Hospital.
Punjab Director General of Police Viresh Kumar Bhawra said, "Moosewala went out in Moosa town at 4.30 pm. Around 5.30 pm, he was driving his jeep, joined by two people, when two vehicles that had been following him caught his vehicle and terminated at him."
On May 26, as a feature of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's security pruning exercise, Moosewala's security cover had been divided from four to two, apparently to expand police force for ghallughara diwas (set apart to fight Operation Bluestar).
he Punjab Police had requested the withdrawal or pruning of safety for 424 people, including MLAs, strict pioneers, dera heads and resigned cops. Among the strict pioneers whose security cover was decreased or removed incorporate administering Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, the Radha Soami Satsang Beas boss, Takht Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, and Dera Sachkhand Ballan boss Sant Niranjan Dass among others.
Mansa Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Toora expressed that on Sunday, Moosewala didn't take "the two commandos who were essential for his security detail nor his confidential watchmen, letting them know that he was going for a round".
DGP Bhawra said the killing "has all the earmarks of being the consequence of between group contention as Moosewala's supervisor Shagunpreet Singh name had surfaced in the Vicky Middukhera murder case."
In August last year, Shiromani Akali Dal pioneer Vicky Middukhera was shot dead in a market in Mohali's Sector 71. Police captured three shooters, one of whom named Moosewala's chief Shaganpreet. Shaganpreet has since been slipping away.
DGP Bhawra said police are exploring the supposed job of the Lawrence Bishnoi posse in the killing. On Sunday, hours after Moosewala was killed, Canada-based Goldy Brar, supposedly an individual from the Bishnoi pack, put out a Facebook post claiming liability regarding the killing and charging police didn't act against the vocalist over Middukhera's homicide.
The DGP expressed that on the headings of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Inspector General (Bathinda Range) has been approached to comprise an exceptional examination group to test the occurrence.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann pursued for quiet and said no offender would be saved. "I'm profoundly disheartened and stunned by the awful homicide of Sidhu Moose Wala..No guilty party will be spared..My ardent feelings and petitions to God are with his family and his fans all around the world..Appeal to all to try to avoid panicking," he tweeted.
Responding to Moosewala's killing, Chief Minister Mann tweeted, "I'm profoundly disheartened and stunned by the horrendous homicide of Sidhu Moosewala… No guilty party will be saved… My genuine feelings and petitions to God are with his family and his fans everywhere… I appeal to all to try to avoid panicking."
Moosewala, who had a place with Moosa town close to Mansa, was the voice of numerous superhit tunes throughout the course of recent years. Recently, he had challenged the Assembly surveys on a Congress ticket from Mansa, losing to AAP's Dr Vijay Singla — the pastor who was sacked by the AAP government and captured recently over supposed debasement allegations — by an edge of 63,323 votes.
Moosewala had gotten the Congress together with much display in November last year. With the party giving him a ticket from Mansa Assembly body electorate, the Congress sitting MLA from the seat, Nazar Singh Manshahia, had revolted, saying he would go against the candidature of the vocalist.
